What’s happening at LIT
The CWB released its April 2012 Pool Return Outlook (PRO) for the 2011-12 crop year. Wheat values have not changed from last month's PRO. Milling durum values have increased by $1 to $3 per tonne, depending on grade and protein levels. Malting barley values are unchanged.

The CWB announced that 2011-12 initial payments for all grades and classes of non-durum wheat will increase effective April 12, 2012. The increases will range from $4.10 to $41.25 per tonne, depending on grade and class.
Farmers who delivered wheat to the CWB between August 1, 2011 and April 11, 2012 will receive an adjustment payment. Producers will receive payment by direct deposit on April 24. Cheques will be delivered for mailing to Canada Post by April 27, and farmers can expect to receive them by May 4. Farmers who wish to defer payments have until April 20 to notify the CWB by calling 1-800-275-4292.

Wheat values have increased from last month's PRO, ranging from up $7 to up $11 per tonne, depending on class, grade and protein level. Milling durum values are unchanged, while No. 5 CWAD is up $7 per tonne. Malting barley values have declined by $2 per tonne since last month.
